In a recent issue, The Brewspaper reported that scientists from Spain and Japan have found that humans have a tendency to turn counterclockwise instead of clockwise. So my question is: if you need to turn around — say you are talking to someone at a desk, and then turn to leave — do you turn away clockwise or counterclockwise? And does this depend on if you’re left or right-handed? I’m right-handed and I definitely can imagine myself turning counterclockwise. But is it the same for a left-handed person? Maybe it’s instinct — if we’re turning away from someone we don’t trust, we want our stronger dominant hand to be ready to deflect if the situation goes awry… What do you think?
