Are you an early bird, or do you like to sleep in until ten? Well, researchers from Columbia University have found that both too little and too much sleep are associated with faster aging in nearly every organ of the body. Although this doesn’t prove that sleep duration causes faster aging, it may be a sign of a poorer lifestyle and worse overall health. So how much sleep do we need? The research team found that people who aged the slowest slept between 6 and 8 hours each night, while sleep scientists generally recommend 7-9 hours of shut-eye. Something to dream about tonight!
