The 4th of May is Star Wars Day! This day arose from the pun “May the 4th be with you”, riffing off Obi-Wan Kenobi’s famous line in A New Hope. After its beginning as a fan celebration in the early 2000s, the California Legislature officially declared May 4th as Star Wars Day in 2019. But did you know that the first reference to this pun dates all the way back to 1979, when a newspaper ad congratulated Margaret Thatcher on being elected as the UK prime minister on the 4th of May? So dress up in your favourite Jedi robes, fire up those lightsabres and party like you’re on Zeltros! Just watch out for the Revenge of the 5th…
