Mixing up your exercise routine might be the best way to hit those fitness goals and live a long life. Scientists from Harvard University tracked over 100,000 people across three decades to find out how different types of physical activity impacted their health. As expected, those who were more physically active overall had a lower risk of death during the course of the study. However, the researchers also found that doing a variety of different physical activities significantly lowered the risk of death, even if their overall activity levels were lower.
